Fancy a Job?

At Oakland, we are building a company we can all be proud of, but to make this happen, we need brilliant people. We need people who are dedicated to delivering ingenious solutions which solve our clients’ most challenging problems.

Blue Down Arrow

What Makes Oakland Different?

  • We have a long history but a tech start-up mentality. So we’re small enough for you to make your mark and make a difference as we grow
  • We’re one of Best Companies’ top 100 small companies to work for and top 30 consultancies in the UK.
  • We are tech agnostic and work with a diverse range of tech including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, DBT, Great Expectations, and Prefect, so there is always something to learn, and you can learn from some of the best in the business.

Our values aren’t just marketing fluff and catchy soundbites. They guide us and reflect who we are and how we do things. To decide what our values should be, we focused on what makes Oakland unique. The closer we looked, we discovered common attitudes, qualities, and traits despite our different personalities and backgrounds. We thought, what if we could bottle and share these? So that is precisely what we did.

We are:

Passionate • Curious • Tenacious • Principled • Technically Excellent

It’s more than a job

We like to think of Oakland as a family (maybe a bit dysfunctional but a family nevertheless), and we actively encourage teams to get together as often as possible. We’ve held away days, beer tastings, board game nights fueled by beer and pizza, and we’ve even got a Strava Group to try and encourage us to get fit. You think of the idea and we’ll make it happen* (*within reason of course)

Giving Back

We all have a cause that is particularly close to our hearts, so with the Oakland giving back scheme, you choose the charity and activity, and we’ll double the contribution. We also run team events like the Macmillan Big Coffee morning to raise money together, and we’re always looking for new challenges.

At the Oakland Group, our brilliant people mean everything, and we go out of our way to look after them. If you decide to join us, you can expect the following benefits

Bonus scheme

We offer a yearly performance-based bonus. When we do well, you’ll do well. We believe in sharing in our success.

Flexible working

We know great work isn’t just done in the office, so we offer flexible working arrangements which allow you to work from home up to 3 days a week

25 days holiday

Taking a break is incredibly important for your mental health and wellbeing, so we encourage everyone to take their full holiday entitlement and switch off from emails and calls.

Private healthcare for you and your family

Your health and wellbeing is the most important thing in the world, so we offer a comprehensive AXA private health care package for you and your family which includes discounted gym memberships and physiotherapy and counselling sessions

Company wellness scheme

Our resident ‘Head of Happiness’ and qualified mental health first aider Jane arranges coffee chats, quizzes, team socials, and wellness webinars with talks from experts on topics such as stress, nutrition, sleep management, and movement together with yoga and meditation sessions

Industry-leading pension

Saving for the future isn’t always top of your list of priorities, so we provide a generous pension contribution to help you build up a healthy pot for when you do want to take your foot off the gas

Healthy snacks & great coffee

We know how important a great cup of coffee is, so we provide the beans and the fanciest coffee maker in Leeds so you can try your hand at being a barista. We also offer fruit and healthy snacks for the days you are in the office

Bring your dog to work

The mental health benefits of pets in the workplace are clear. They make us get up from our desks and speak to the people around us, they help us release more oxytocin and relax us, and you know what, we just love them. So if your dog is well behaved and doesn’t wee on the floor, they’re in.

Dedicated Training

We wholeheartedly believe in training and self-improvement and have budgeted training days based on your role. We do all the usual things like AWS and Azure but we also encourage you to find the tools and training to help you become even more brilliant

Recommend a friend scheme

If you know someone brilliant then please introduce us. If it all works out you’ll get a £2,000 thank you bonus, and that’s definitely worth having
